James P. Coyle, PhD is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. His research examines the nature of resilience in families affected by alcohol abuse and developmental disability and applying a resilience framework in family interventions. He has also studied curriculum development and evaluation, and teaching and learning in social work education. He teaches undergraduate and graduate students about social work practice skills and professional writing skills, based on his experiences from twenty years as a social work practitioner in child welfare, mental health, and family services.
